Centennial Community Center, operated by Tri-Valley Improvement Association, invites everyone in the community to participate in our events. We are a group of volunteers who want to enhance the spirit of community in our local area by providing opportunities for friendship, enrichment and good old fashioned fun.
Please join us when you can. We are always looking for additional volunteers to help at events, greet visitors during hours of operation, and help in various other ways. Please contact Sharon Hillhouse at the library (859-4271) to discuss volunteer opportunities or to ask questions or speak to the volunteer in the office Mon-Thurs 10am-2pm (859-3069).
Our lunches, dinners and events are very affordable so that everyone can participate. If you are financially fortunate, please consider making a separate donation to help us cover our costs (utilities, restroom supplies, insurance, trash, propane, office supplies etc.) Make tax deductible checks payable to Tri-Valley Improvement Association. Centennial Community Center Band Scramble
January 28, 2012
Performers sign in 11-12:00, Bands drawn 12:00 - practice 12:30-1:00
Performances Begin at 1:00
Admission $3 (performers free) Lunch sold 11:30-1:00 for $5 (hamburger or salmon burger, chips or veggies, beverage).
What Does a Scrambled Band Taste Like?
Follow this recipe for a delicious result: PLACE a cupful of names of amateur musicians and singers in a bowl (or hat), SCRAMBLE well, REMOVE and PLACE IN RANDOM BATCHES. This creates an unexpected mix of talent and energy, as most of these ingredients (performers) have never been together before. LET these BATCHES SET 30 minutes (they meet to decide the songs they will perform). See them RISE to the occasion as you watch & listen to them COOK on stage. The whole hall will be filled with the warmth and aromas created. Even if music is not part of your regular diet, YOULL EAT IT UP! Cash prizes go to those serving up the most delicious entrees.
