EnviroMission Solar Tower coming to LaPaz County
- Quartzsite Solar Energy proposes to construct a 100-megawatt solar-powered electrical generation facility in La Paz County, Arizona. The project is proposed for an area about 10 miles north of Quartzsite and adjacent to Arizona State Route 95. Photovoltaic Solar, is coming to the Vicksburg area. Koffa Hills Estates has applied for a Special Use Permit for a 160-acre parcel solar power generation facility - and was approved by the La Paz County Planning & Zoning Commission. The Special Use Permit is for a Utility-Scale Solar Power Generation Facility. July 5, 2011: Kofa Hills Estates has requested a three (3) year extension to July 6, 2014, to begin implementation of the Special Use Permit for a 160 acre RA-40 (Rural Area-Forty Acres) Zoning of the Koffa Hills Estates Unit III to develop a Utility-Scale Solar Power Generation Facility
- A renewable energy facility is also proposed to be built in Vicksburg. The first phase will take the municipal landscape waste and other recyclable elements, which will be used to generate and produce electricity that will go into the southwestern state's electrical grid as well as produce electricity to use for the next phase. The second phase is the Arizona Tissue Mill. The tissue mill will produce four core products: bath, facial, napkins and paper towels." The third major component for this facility will be its own dedicated water treatment facility - to be used in the renewable energy for the construct of electricity and also in the production of the tissue.
